What is the difference between WIG (TIG) and Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) cladding?

PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc) cladding constricts the arc through a specialized copper nozzle orifice, forming a highly collimated plasma beam. This constriction produces a much higher energy density, narrower heat-affected zone (HAZ), higher travel speeds, and lower dilution rates, making PTA the preferred choice for applying thick, wear-resistant coatings with alloy powders.
