Plasma Transferred Arc (PTAW) or Equipos de Soldadura de Plasma is an advanced thermal surfacing process that deposits wear and corrosion-resistant layers onto raw metallic substrates. During operation, metal alloy powder (commonly Cobalt-based Stellite, Nickel-based Colmonoy, or Tungsten Carbide composites) is injected coaxially or laterally into the arc.
